I created a series of lessons focused on math foundations that emphasize different thinking styles.
For most students, the number line makes sense.
Not everyone thinks in number lines. Some people think in patterns.
Any subtraction problem can be made into an addition problem.
You can also think of subtraction as flipping.
Like addition, order doesn't matter when you multiply
While most students are taught a highly procedural method to multiply multiple digits, many students break up numbers into little pieces. Either way works.
Different countries teach division differently. Some teach it as a series of multiplaction.
This is another way to look at division.
Let's do something with fractions.
Food on Top, People on the Bottom.
We can put other stuff for sharing on top, and other things that share on the bottom.
